Welcome to the BCC Website

The British Cryogenics Council (BCC) is the natural home of Engineers working in the field of cryogenics. In 1967, the British Cryogenics Council (BCC) was founded to promote cryogenics and support the application of cryogenic processes in industry. Membership of the BCC is open to anyone with an interest in cryogenics upon payment of an annual subscription.

ISIS Visit September 20th 2008

Members and Guests of the British Cryogenics Council have been invited to visit the ISIS neutron spallation facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory on September 3rd for a tour of the facility, at a time when it is undergoing major investment, introducing a second target station. Cryogenics play an important part at ISIS in the process of generating particle streams and in the target environments.

Important Notes :

  • Attendees must register by August 20th to ensure a place on the visit
  • The visit is not suitable for pregnant women, those with pacemakers, or those under 16
  • Comfortable footwear is recommended as the tour includes extensive walking, including stairs
  • Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival; the visit should finish by 20.00
  • Attendees should arrive at the main Rutherford Appleton Laboratory gate [OX11 0QX] at 17.45
